What is Early Voting?
Early voting in person starts 17 days before each election unless the first day falls on the weekend, then early voting begins on the following Monday and ends 4 days before each election. You can vote early in person at any voting location in your county that is convenient to you. (On election day, you must vote in your precinct.)
You can also vote early by mail if you are: going to be away from your county on Election Day and during early voting; sick or disabled; 65 years of age or older on Election Day; or confined in jail. Applications for a ballot by mail must be submitted to the early voting clerk on or after the 60th day before Election Day and before the close of business on the 7th day before Election Day if the 7th day is a weekend, the last day to submit an application is the preceding Friday.
For more information on early voting, visit the Secretary of State's website or your county site.
The Texas Voter is a quarterly publication printed by the LWV-TX containing a variety of information on League activity at state and local levels, as well as voting issues affecting the state.
The National League site contains a huge amount of information on national issues and advocacy campaigns taking place across the US as well as many other resources.
